View of our temporary house from the front

Peanut loves his bugs

No need to carry toys if bugs can be found.

Our river

Our river has good fishing and good crawdads to eat.

Our temporary house - outside view

Our back yard and the clearing where our perm. house will be

Noah holds his plastic tub of bugs and models our future house site.

Also, there are some really strange plants here!

Also, the site we see looking out the back window of our temporary house.

Our front yard

Fresh bannanners, a clean river...who could ask for more.

It'll be awhile before Starbucks comes....

The dangers of Being wife number 2

I guess it is the fancy beauty tattoes, but this woman became an attraction for a previously married husband and he added her to his family as wife number 2, a not uncommon practice.

In response, the other wife's family beat here severely, also a not uncommon practice.

When I told the people that they were not allowed to beat their wives because that was bad a few of them laughed. Ha, feminism won't take hold here for a long time!

Home sweet temporary home - 1

Who needs nails when intricately laced vines is so much more curious to a Westerner!

Relaxin' with the fam

Baby Sister loves to climb and here she is climbing on our rice bag to get more height. Meanwhile Big Brother cannot let go of his plastic container of spiders even to take a picture.

The whole family interior

The house building is coming along nicely. And, we got a village medical worker as well. Progress is nice to see.

While the perm. house is being built we are staying in a temporary house that we hope to improve substantially.

Another day, another lizard

The Peanut needs no toys, he catches lizards and bugs everyday.

The locals even tell him which spiders he can eat, but he has not eaten any yet.

Here he shows off a rare large lizard and a two-tailed gecko.

What a difference a year makes!

Next year it will be skyscrapers!

Brush your teeth every day

Every night before we go to bed it is time to brush teeth. While we do that, we sing this ditty:

Brush your teeth every day
It's the clean and healthy way

Let your dentist check them too
so they will not bother you

Give your teeth a snack time treat
Crunchy vegetables to eat

And part of the tradition is to change the last verse to "crunchy animals to eat" to which the Peanut says..."Nooooooooo..that's not how it goes..."

Peanut tells grammas and grampas hi for Mother's Day

I can ride my bike now.

I have many spiders and beetles.

I like lizards.

Baby Sister can stand up and walk now...

...Peanut had much to say.

My son's future vaudeville career

He sings, he dances!!! A possible future calling? He needs a few more members and he will have a barbershop quartet.
